Outside In

Warm weather is finally here!

If you’re anything like me, you’re overflowing with happiness . . . and relief. The first day I can walk outside in shorts and flip flops is the best day of the year.

But of course, even though the cold and bitter weather left us, our responsibilities have not. We still have jobs to go to and classes to attend, which are, unfortunately, mostly indoors.

Being cooped up inside when it’s so nice outside is the only downside I see to the weather getting nicer. I hate sitting at a desk when I know the sun’s out and it’s warm. Also, it’s so hard to stay focused when the last place you want to be is your desk.

Therefore, today I’m thinking about ways you can redecorate your office area or school supplies to make them more summer-y, hopefully curing some of that trapped-inside feeling.

There are lots of ways you can switch out your old decor or replace your old utensils and things to create a new, summery feel. Not only is it fun to redecorate, but summer-izing your officespace or any workspace will be a major mood booster.

I found some nice ideas on careerbliss.com. One suggestion is to get a decorative jar and create a “beach jar,” filling it with sand and seashells. Beachy vibes are a go-to for spring and summer. Another great idea in the article is to get colorful magnets. And you don’t have to stop there, adding pops of color in different items is a great way to add some shine to a workspace.

There are so many possibilities. You can print out some old beach pictures and put them in colorful frames, or buy new plants and flowers. If you’re a student, you can try a new, lighter and more colorful backpack. If you’re a planner person, you can grab one with a floral or tropical leaf print. These are just some of many ways you can add a little sun into your indoor responsibilities

Getting some fresh air is important, so it’s always a good idea to take advantage of the nice weather. And if you can’t be outdoors, take the nice weather inside with you.

Real Talk.
